Accounts & Client Support Lead

Location: Tiptree, Essex
Hours: 10-15 hours per week (with potential to increase)
Based: Office/hybrid

This is a varied role that sits between bookkeeping and senior accounting work and would suit someone with practice experience who enjoys both technical work and client interaction.

You will work alongside our Senior Accountant and bookkeeping team to prepare accounts and tax returns, review records, and support clients with day-to-day queries.

The role will initially be 10-15 hours per week, with potential for additional hours as the business grows.

Key Responsibilities

  • Preparing year-end accounts for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies
  • Preparing self-assessment and corporation tax returns
  • Reviewing bookkeeping records prepared by the bookkeeping team
  • Liaising with clients to answer queries and explain financial information
  • Supporting the team with adjustments such as accruals, prepayments and journals
  • Providing backup support for payroll when required
  • Assisting with charity accounts where relevant
  • Helping maintain strong client relationships and high standards of service


Skills & Experience

We welcome applications from experienced practice accountants who are looking for a flexible part-time role.

We are looking for someone who has:

  • AAT qualification or equivalent experience
  • Previous experience working in an accountancy practice preparing accounts and tax returns (essential)
  • Experience preparing sole trader and limited company accounts
  • Experience preparing self-assessment tax returns
  • Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
  • Confidence communicating with clients
  • Experience with Xero or similar cloud accounting software
  • Knowledge of payroll

Experience with charity accounts would be beneficial but is not essential.
